Period Health Basics: What’s Normal and When to Talk to a Doctor

Periods ke baare me log itna hush-hush rehte hain ki bahut si girls/ women ko pata hi nahi hota ki normal kya hai aur abnormal kya. Basic clarity bohot helpful hoti hai.

Aam taur pe cycle 21–35 din ke beech consider normal hai, aur bleeding 2–7 din tak. Mild cramps, halka mood swing, thodi bloating—ye sab common hai. Lekin har mahine extreme pain jahan dard se normal kaam na ho paa raha ho, ye “normal” nahi mana jata.

Bahut zyada heavy bleeding (pad/ tampon 1–2 ghante me completely soak, large clots, ya feeling of weakness) bhi red flag hai. Bohot hi irregular periods (months skip hona without pregnancy, ya bohot frequent cycles) hormonal issue ka sign ho sakte hain – jaise PCOS, thyroid problems, etc.

Sudden change—jaise normal cycle se achanak bohot pattern bigad jana—bhi check karne layak hota hai.

Period hygiene bhi important hai: clean pads/ cups/ tampons regularly change karna, scented products ya harsh soaps se area irritate na karna, cotton underwear, etc.

Agar tum uncomfortable feel karti ho is topic pe normal doctor se baat karne me, female gynecologist choose kar sakti ho. Lekin dard, heavy bleeding ya extreme mood disturbance ko “chalta hai” keh kar ignore mat karo.
